Fund Raising

Chicken/egg business update

DSCN0026

We are near the end of our fund raising to complete the chicken/egg business. The building has been built, a wall has been erected, the chickens have been purchased but not delivered. DSCN0025These things have been completed as the money is available.

We have raised $22,000 of the $28,000 needed to complete this project. Only $6,000 is needed to complete the project including finishing the chicken coops inside the building, installing a gate, purchasing feed and completing the installation of electricity and water.

Once this project is complete and the business is started, the profit from this business should fund one more day when the children can come to the orphan project for a meal!!!!! This project is the idea of the Board and Village Committee of Kanyenyeva Orphan Care Ministry. They continue to seek ways to be able to fund the feeding program themselves. This is the next step in helping them to become financially independent. The bus business that we helped them to start, provides the funding for one feeding day and this business should fund another feeding day.

Please prayerfully consider donating to help the orphan project continue to become financially independent. Their goal is to be able to fund the orphan project themselves. Our donations now will help them to become financially independent in the future. Any amount is helpful!!! Click here to donate online through paypal. If you prefer, you can send a check to:

We run for Malawi is Liwiro la Malawi in Chichewa.

On March 22, 2014, Malawi Orphan Care Project will host a 5K Run/Walk in downtown Mansfield, Ohio.

Why Liwiro la Malawi?
The money raised from this 5K Run/Walk will help to improve the lives of orphans at the Kanyenyeva Orphan Care Ministry in Malawi, Africa.

Madzi 4 Malawi

Madzi 4 Malawi 2.2Madzi means water in the native Malawian language of Chichewa.

In January, 2013, a well was put in at the orphan project allowing the people from the area to have clean water which is close to their homes. Next, we want to help them have a clean way to carry and store this clean water. For a donation of $15, you can provide a water pack for a caretaker of an orphan.

More information will be coming soon about these water packs.

Shoe Drive

DSCN8760_FotorPlease consider donating your unused footwear to Malawi Orphan Care Project, Inc. We are raising money for the orphan project by collecting shoes from September 9 – 28, 2013.

Why? To recycle unused shoes so they don’t end up in a landfill and to raise money for Malawi Orphan Care Project.

Do they need to be new shoes? No. The condition of the shoes doesn’t matter; they can be new, falling apart or anything in between. We are collecting shoes, sandals, boots, athletic shoes….any footwear.

What happens to the shoes? The usable shoes will be sold to small business entrepreneurs in third world countries. The unusable shoes will be recycled. Nothing will be disposed of, everything will be used somehow.
