The Feeding Program

The children come to the orphan project six days a week for a noon meal. At least 800 children come for a meal.

Their meal usually consists of:

nsima, a thick paste-like food made with corn flour,
greens, mustard greens, pumpkin leaves, spinach or any other ‘green’ which is boiled with onions and tomatoes, if some are available,
soya meat, a textured, vegetable protein,
on occasion, 1/2 of a hard-boiled egg.

The current cost of feeding about 800 orphans one meal is $400.

A meal only costs about $0.50 per person. Please help.
