Manna for Malawi 2017

Manna for Malawi will be held on Sunday, June 25 from 4 – 8 pm. at the Woodtick Inn in Cuyna, MN.

The Lamant Cranston Band will perform again this year at this annual music and food benefit.

Other featured artists will include Gravel Roads, Christian country band based in Anoka.  Italian food prepared by Maucieri’s in Crosslake will be served. A freewill offering will be taken. Last year’s event brought in more than $25,000. All proceeds from the music fundraiser go directly to the MOCP feeding program.

Kanyenyeva Ministry Executive Director Shadrek Chikoti says “again, there will be hunger in most parts of Malawi this year. The price of maize continues to skyrocket in the coming months. More mouths to feed and less to feed them with. We are truly blessed by MOCP.”

Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby, MN sponsors this event which raises money for the feeding program.

Christmas Celebration 2016

Zikomo kwambiri to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby, MN!!!!!

The orphans were able to celebrate Christmas with a Bible teaching and a special meal.

Thank you so much to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Crosby, MN for sponsoring the Christmas meal for the orphan project again in 2016!!! Over 800 children and adults were fed beef, rice, and cabbage for this special meal.

Mr. Harold Chiudza, the Kanyenyeva Ministries board treasurer, taught the children the Christmas Story, Jesus is Born!

The high school students helped to serve the meal, then had a chance to eat, too.

The children were given special treats.

First Quarter Offering to benefit the feeding program at the orphan project!!!

A huge thank you to the students at Lebanon Lutheran School in Lebanon, Wisconsin. The have collected $1,159 from their offering from their weekly chapel service and have chosen to donate it to Malawi Orphan Care Project to provide food and general support for the children at the orphan project.

Malawi is entering their ‘hungry season’. The ‘hungry season’ is a time when the food from the last harvest is gone and the next harvest is still months away (in April, 2017). During the coming months the orphan project will be increasing the number of days that they feed the children to six (from four) and the number of children fed will increase, too. Currently they regularly feed over 600 children. They plan to feed over 800 children and possibly many more than that!!

Thank you Lebanon Lutheran School!!!!
